Suffering Shorewalk Ponds

We have 6 ponds on the Shorewalk Palms Complex. During the winter months the water levels drop and the banks are barren and visually unappealing. The grass around the ponds gets fertilized and banks are sprayed with weed killer. These chemicals seep into the pond, which contributes to the deterioration of the water quality and the proliferation of algae. The water runoff eventually ends polluting the  Sarasota Bay.
