Egrets are here!

 

This is not a Shorewalk pond, but I look forward to seeing visiting Egrets hiding among our pond plantings. Did you know that egrets sleep standing in the water? Or that feeding egrets bread crumbs and processed food can cause them to be malnourished? Fish are their dietary staple, but great egrets will also to eat amphibians, reptiles, mice, and other small animals.
