Smooth take-off!

This Roseate Spoonbill is a beauty! They are now frequent pond visitors.  Spoonbills use tactile and visual cues to find their prey.  They use a sweeping motion with their head to search for food in shallow water. As soon as the unfortunate victim touches the bill, they quickly snap it shut to catch their meal.
