The Amazing Women of the Beautifcation Committee

Look at our newly installed native pond littoral shelf plants! Shorewalk was, once again, a recipient of SBEP grant funds! These funds allow Shorewalk to restore our ponds with native plantings. These plantings will help reduce the contaminated water running back into the Sarasta Bay.

Look at these powerful women from our Beautifcation Comittee; Claudia Peays, George Ann & Lynn. They are busy getting rid of excess algae. By scooping up the algae,  they keep our pond maintenance company from spraying excess amounts of herbicide into the pond. Once the pond plantings reach maturity, the plants will balance the ecosystem by absorbing nutrients in the water from fish waste and reducing nutrient availability, which will further limit algae growth.
